What are the specifications for the selection of protective masks

Recently, with the continuous nuisance of the haze weather and climate, disposable masks with a higher filtering system and prevention functions have become small artifacts necessary for public travel. But the English letters on disposable mask products often confuse people. What are the differences between N95, R95 and P95? Does KN100 mean that the filtration system power of disposable masks is 100%? I think this kind of sign means different protection levels for each disposable mask. Disposable masks of each category can also be supplied with specific protection levels according to their different standard specifications.

N95 disposable masks were the most widely known disposable mask products of customers at that time. I think N95 is not a product title, but only one of the nine categories of the NIOSH standard for fine particle protection masks. Non-oil-proof fine particles, 95 indicates "the power of non-oily fine particles in the disposable mask filtration system reaches at least 95%". General non-oily fine particles refer to coal dust, cement dust, acid mist, microorganisms, etc. At that time, in the violent smog pollution, the suspended particles were mostly right and wrong oily. The oily fine particles refer to oil fume, oil mist, asphalt smoke, etc. Therefore, N95 disposable masks are disposable masks that can block 95% or more of non-oily fine particles.

In addition to the N series product standard specifications, the United States also has R and P two series product standard specifications. R refers to restrictive oil-resistant fine particulate matter, and P refers to oil-resistant fine particulate matter, which can filter both oily and non-oily fine particulate matter of the system. These three series of products can be divided into three levels of 95, 99, 100, which means that the filter system power is> / = 95%,> / = 99% and> / = 99.97%. In the world's shopping malls, the standard specification for dry-flow disposable masks is the European EN standard. This standard specification divides disposable masks into three categories, which are FFP1, FFP2? And FFP3 respectively, and the corresponding filter system power is> / = 80%,> / = 94% and> / = 99%. This standard regulates both oily and non-oily fine particles.

At that time, China adopted the national mandatory standard specification of GB2626-2006 "Respiratory safety protective equipment-self-priming filter system type fine particle respirator" as the standard specification of protective mask products. GB2626-2006 first classifies anti-fine particle disposable masks into KN and KP. Learning the American standard, KN-type disposable masks can filter non-oily fine particles of the system, while KP-type disposable masks can filter oily and non-oily fine particles. According to the power difference of the filter system, it is divided into three levels of 90, 95 and 100, and the separation means that the minimum power of the filter system is 90%, 95% and 99.97%. Generally speaking, the Chinese GB standard has no practical difference in terms of product prevention function and comfort requirements from the foreign mainstream standard.

At that time, the State Administration of Work Safety established the requirements of the General Administration of Quality Supervision: The special labor safety protection products produced by enterprises must obtain the safety symbol of special labor safety protection products. Therefore, as a member of special labor safety protection products, protective masks must be certified to prove that their functions are truly effective.
