Vibration lines often appear in CNC machining centers* during processing. The main reasons for chattering are as follows:

  • 1. Rigidity due to external reasons, including the rigidity of the tool holder, boring bar, boring head, and intermediate joints. Because it is cantilever processing, especially when processing small holes, deep holes and hard workpieces, the rigidity of external factors is particularly important.
  • 2. Rigidity and dynamic balance due to external factors. Relative to the axis of rotation, the mass imbalance caused by external factors will cause vibration lines to occur due to the unbalanced centrifugal force during rotation. Especially in high-speed machining, the dynamic balance of things has a great influence.
  • 3. The workpiece itself or the fixing rigidity of the workpiece, such as some small and thin parts due to their lack of rigidity, or due to the shape of the workpiece, can not be adequately fixed by using a reasonable press fixture.
  • 4. The shape of the tip of the blade. The shape of the blade, the rake angle, the entering angle, the radius of the tip, the shape of the chip breaker, etc. will all cause the cutting resistance to be different.
  • 5. The selection of cutting parameters includes cutting speed, feed, feed amount and cooling method.
  • 6. ​​The rigidity of the spindle of the CNC machining center, the function of the bearing and gear, and the rigidity of the connection between the spindle and the tool holder.
  • 7. Vibration lines will occur due to reasons such as the rigidity mismatch of the CNC system drive.
